Markets
For those of you who like
to wander round markets, the Manilva area is a great base to explore
from. There are numerous markets, both traditional and modern,
ranging from indoor produce markets to craft and flea markets.
Manilva itself has three weekly
markets - two on Friday and one on Sunday. Friday markets can
be found in Calle Nueva, near the health centre in Manilva and
in Avda Andalucia/Calle Fernando Pessoa in Sabinillas (near the
old football ground). Both these markets sell clothing, shoes,
fruit and veg, etc and are held in the morning.
 On
Sunday is the famous Sabinillas 'Rastro' or flea market. What
started out as a small group of car-booters outside the Manisabi
function rooms, soon expanded into a major market, moving first
across the road to a large area of wasteground which is now Sabinillas
Sol; then to the old feria ground at the end of the Paseo; and
finally to the New Fair Ground on the Rio Manilva Road just up
from the old Gran Bar (now Andalucian Dream Homes).
This new location, although
unpopular with some people, was necessary due to changes that
had to be made to the Paseo and also the imminent start to the
new sports complex on the site of the old football ground.

MONDAY
Marbella - Next to the football
stadium on the Ojen Road. Leave the motorway at the La Cañada
exit (MacDonalds) and drive towards the sea. The football stadium
is on the left.
TUESDAY
Fuengirola - One of the biggest
markets on the Costa del Sol. At the new Fairground.
Mijas Pueblo - Street market.
Monda Street market in Calle
Los Huertos.
WEDNESDAY
Estepona - At the new fairground
just off the by-pass (take the second exit coming from the Manilva
direction).
La Linea - Next to the football
ground by the frontier.
Aroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena

Istan - Street market
La Cala de Mijas - In the

THURSDAY
San Pedro de Alcantara - Street
