The Sabinillas Carnival Cultural Association "Peñas Los Niños" in collaboration with the Cultureal Department presents the VI Grand Paella on Sunday 20 March in the El Duque Park in Sabinillas from 12 noon.
Entertainment will be provided by a number of chirigota and comparsa groups including:
From Estepona: La Tengo Encantá, Los Pulseritas a chirigota from La Línea; Mar de Amores from Marbella, and La Mercader de la Alegría, a comparsa fromTesorillo.
Also performing are award winners: Ricas y Maduras, Cantautor de la Plaza Mina and the chirigota del Sheriff Cai Story.
From 2 pm visitors can enjoy free paella and those who turn up in fancy dress will receive a gift.

According to information received, the body of a young man was found floating in the marina at Puerto de la Duquesa this morning.

Manilva's Councillor for Promotion and Image, Noelia López, is inviting entries to the II Photography Competition "Corners of Manilva".
The competition is on the theme of pictures that capture the essence of the municipality of Manilva, and a first prize of €100 will be awarded in each of three categories:

1. Natural landscapes.
2. Daily life.
3. Picturesque locations.

Entries can be submitted up until 2nd May, 2011, and all the accepted entries will go on display to the public from 6th May.
Images can be submitted through the website www.turismomanilva.com (click on the 'Concurso de fotografia' button in the left column). Entries must be a maximum of 2048x1536 pixels and no bigger than 3mb.
Entrants accept that any photographs submitted may be used on the Town Hall's websites or in any publication or promotional material.
All submitted photographs must be the property of the entrant and only one prize can be won by any entrant.
The competition organisers reserve the right to remove from the contest any photographs deemed unsuitable for any reason.

This Saturday, March 12, sees the annual carnival fancy dress competition which will be held at the old sports hall next to the football ground in Manilva.

On Saturday, 26 February the first artists' market was held in the Castle at Castillo de la Duquesa. The aim of the event was to provide local artists with an opportunity to exhibit and promote their and giving the public a chance to view the interesting variety of subjects, styles and mediums on display.

On Saturday 26 February local authorities in Manilva held a ceremony to inaugurate the 5 kilometres of improvements to public roads in the Punta Chullera urbanisation.

From 1 to 5 March, some 38 pairs will compete for the 2,000€ of prizes up for grabs in the tournament organised by Manilva's Sports Department in collaboration with Areapadel, Hostal Cafeteria Ocaña and the sports magazine 'Jugador Doce' and taken place at the padel courts next to Manilva's Las Viñas football ground.
