'Miel' is situated on the beachfront in San Luis de Sabinillas about half way along the town's picturesque Paseo Maritimo promenade.

Opening in May, 2004, 'Miel' is owned by Wim and Kaat, both from Belgium. Wim learnt his trade as a baker-confectioner, chocolateur and ice cream maker in Bruges, Belgium and then went on to work for a major baker and confectioners travelling the world as a technical fine patisserie demonstrator.

Kaat trained as an airline pilot but due to a downturn in that industry changed career and went into the restaurant industry before meeting Wim.

Wim and Kaat came to Sabinillas on holiday in the Summer of 2003 and immediately saw the need for a Belgian-style cafeteria, patisserie, creperia and restaurant and promptly moved to Sabinillas in November of that year, and aren't we glad that they did?

Since opening, ' Miel' has enjoyed great success, providing locals and visitors with something a little different from the usual cafe menu.

At 'Miel' you can breakfast from 8 am, choosing from freshly baked butter almond croissants, Danish pasties, full English breakfast, sandwiches, paninis, Belgian waffles and pancakes all washed down with fresh juice, tea, coffee or one of their famous hot chocolates made with real Belgian chocolate.

For lunch or dinner there are baguettes, spaghetti, lasagne, a wide range of pastas and salads, quiche, soup, creative fish and meat dishes, fillet steak and authentic Zeeland Mussels.
